nemali magazine

Dear Reader,

Nemali Magazine started with two dreams. Our first dream was that Telugu books, stories, and poems will once again fill the homes of Telugu families. Each and every day, our culture is losing the literary tradition that we once had. Our hope is that through this magazine, we can inspire our community to slowly increase how much they read and write in Telugu. Importantly, we wish to inspire this habit in young adults and those who were born outside of India. like we were. These stories and poems make up the first section of our magazine.

Our second dream was to increase cultural criticism and discussion about Telugu traditions and Telugu society - whether that is in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana or outside its bounds. These types of cultural critiques can be found in the second section of this magazine. Alongside general cultural critique, this section will include reviews on all types of art made by Telugu individuals - literature, visual art, movies, and music.

As we grow, we hope to start publishing books and novels written in Telugu and begin to sell all of our published work in print. Currently, this magazine is entirely free. Thus, we are unable to financially compensate any authors who submit to our magazine. If you are interested in assisting with this magazine or our greater endeavor in anyway, please send an email to nemalimagazine@proton.me. If you are looking to submit your work to Nemali Magazine, please read our submissions page for more details.
